Twenty Twenty were engaged by Steinhoff to carry out the detailed design and project management of their national distribution centre in Lutterworth.

The 400,000 square foot warehouse, with 20,000 square foot of ancillary offices was fitted out with two multi tier mezzanines and storage racking to provide a total of 860,000 square feet of storage space and around 30,000 pallet positions, in wide aisle and VNA racking.

The 400,000 square foot four tier mezzanine on nearly 500 piles is likely to be one of the largest built in this country.

The project was undertaken over a year, in phases which allowed the tenant to take occupation of the area within 6 weeks of starting on site, with a gradually increasing quantity of space and racking being handed over at critical phases to meet deadlines set by the closure of smaller facilities.

All of the milestones established were achieved on time and the project came in under budget too.
